Assessment 3 involves communicating an understanding of

  • your Team's IT Capstone Project and the progress you have achieved during Phase 1 of your Project (this semester)
  • your plans for Phase 2 of your Project (next semester)
  • convincing evidence that your plans are feasible, realistic and meaningful for you and your Team to achieve with the available time and resources
  • your individual contributions to and reflections on the Project thus far.
  • Your primary audience will be members of the Teaching Team
  • Do not assume that your Tutor will be one of the readers. Write your Report to communicate effectively to any member of the Teaching Team
  • to understand your Project
  • to understand and assess your abilities
  • to understand your goals for Phase 2
  • to understand and assess the feasibility and relevance of your goals in relation to your Project and abilities.

To do this, you must clearly communicate meaningful, relevant information about your Project's definition, plans, outputs and your Team's operation.

The Report format affords the opportunity for you to present information in different ways and in greater detail than your Presentation. You must:

  • use and follow the template we provide, and write your Report in two main parts
  • Part One must be written and presented as a Team
  • Part Two must consist of sections written and presented by each Team member
  • use hyperlinks to enable your readers to access relevant, meaningful outputs or artefacts that you have produced.
  • cite and reference sources in ways appropriate for academic writing, ensuring that your readers can access your sources
  • See QUT Cite | Write for guidance and use one accepted bibliographic style (e.g., APA (author, date), IEEE (numeric)) throughout.

This Assessment relates to how well you demonstrate to the Teaching Team that you can

  • Analyse the project context (ULO 1)
  • Generate well-defined requirements and deliverables (ULO 2)
  • Integrate discipline knowledge and skills through applying advanced problem solving and critical thinking (ULO 3)
  • Plan and manage a project and resources across the project lifecycle (ULO 4)
  • Apply high-performance team practices (ULO 5)
